Event: Big Thought and ShySpeaks Present Drive-In Concert Featuring Rapper Dee-1 focused on Uplifting Black and Brown Communities

Dallas, TX- ShySpeaks and Dee-1 will be performing live at the Civilized Drive In Concert & Conversation at 7 p.m. CST at Gilley’s. Shy has joined forces with Non-Profit, Big Thought as our nation reaches a place of civil shift, unrest, and reformation, we believe that each equipped leader, in every community should be burdened with the obligation to impact it so. She is committed to fervently bearing that weight and being a catalyst for that impact. The artist is staying true to her mission, “…to treat the words Artist, Advocate, and Activist as one in the same”.

The concert is Co-Headlined by award winning Louisiana Based rapper, Dee-1. Dee-1 burst onto the national scene with the mix tape “I Hope They Hear Me Vol 2”, which featured the wildly popular single “Jay, 50, Weezy”. The record proved to be a viral juggernaut spawning a YouTube video that to-date has over 1 million total views, spins on MTV Jams and radio airplay. His latest projects Timeless and collaborative album with Murs are available for streaming and purchase right now.

Bishop Omar Jahwar of Urban Specialist, who has recently been seen via The Heal America Tour in Milwaukee, Atlanta and Chicago, is curating the conversation portion of the event. The panel will feature some of Dallas top community leaders. Attendees will be able to submit questions they would like answered prior to the show. Big Thought, Urban Specialist, Beyond Meat and Curls are sponsoring the community event hosted by Princess Pope, Owner of Guns and Roses Boutique and K104’s Mike Shawn.  Tickets go on sale October 1st at 12 p.m. CST
