It’s no secret that New Yorkers are obsessed with fresh juice, cold-pressed juices, nut-blended juice- basically if it’s juice, it’s cool. And now, it’s not just New York enjoying this trendy food fad. The juicing trend has turned into a juicing revolution, with many of us employing at-home juicers and professional-grade blenders to get the same juice fix as some of our favorite (and mildly extortionist) juice stands.
Just a few years ago, The Wall Street Journal released an article about the fancy juice trend garnering a level of pretentiousness with the byline “carrying a bottle of vegetable juice has become a status symbol.” Whether you believe your love of juice is as much of a “status symbol” as your Starbucks addiction or not, there’s no doubt that drinking juice is a great way to get nutrients on the go. Doing short, juice cleanses and replacing a meal with juice (as long as you are still being aware of getting all of your nutritional needs and fiber) can be a great way to beat bloat and kick-start a fitness regimen.
Don’t give your whole paycheck to Jamba Juice this time if you want to start your morning with a fresh juice blend or begin a cleanse with juicing.
