Fans React to Miley Cyrus Smoking Onstage at MTV EMA Awards (@MileyCyrus @MTV)

In the past Miley Cyrus’ onstage twerking was the big controversy that everybody was talking about, but now she’s trumped that by deciding to smoke a joint on stage at the MTV EMA awards.  During Miley’s acceptance speech for Video of the Year for her hit single “Wrecking Ball,” she pulled out what appeared to be a marijuana-filled joint from her bag and lit it as she said, “I couldn’t fit this award in my bag, but I did find this.”  She proceeded to take a pull from the joint and then concluded her acceptance speech with, “So thank you guys very much. Goodnight everybody. Thank you.”

While a lot of people may have issues with Miley Cyrus deciding to smoke onstage, it is perfectly legal to smoke Marijuana in Amsterdam, which is where the MTV EMA’s were held, and also probably why she decided to do that bold move.  People have been commenting on Miley’s joint smoking heavily on Twitter, some applauding her fearlessness, while others think she’s just digging for attention.
