When Rebekka Bay joined American retailer, Gap, as creative director in 2012, it was said to have been a turning point for the label. And to be quite honest, it truly was, especially with the designer’s following audience from previous H&M Cos brand. So when it was announced that she was ousted from the company back in January, we have to admit: it left us pretty confused – only because we knew it wasn’t due to lack of talent.

Well now, according to Business of Fashion, Bay is headed on to her next major accomplishment, and it seems like a match made in fashion heaven. The Danish designer has been appointed by online clothing retailer, Everlane, as its head of product and design, effective August 4. And though the label is headquartered in San Francisco, Bay and her team will be based in New York.

“When Rebekka and I first met, there was an instant connection. We’re very aligned on the way we view where the world is going. I think she’s going to bring a significant amount of strategy and foresight and planning, thinking about Everlane not only as a fashion brand, but as a lifestyle brand,” Everlane’s founder and chief executive, Michael Preysman told BoF.

If you ask us, we have a good feeling Bay will feel right at home with the new position. Everlane’s obsession with minimalism is a familiar one that the creative director perfected during her time at Cos. Bay’s designs are scheduled to hit the retailer’s site throughout the remainder of 2015 – and we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes open.

But until the big debut, click ahead for a few Everlane pieces that are on our wish lists ahead.
