About Phyllisia Ross
Before Phyllisia Ross was able to read or write she already discovered her passion and love for music. At the age of three years old she began her musical journey learning to read music and study classical piano. Upon entering elementary school and being asked to be a part of the school’s annual talent show, Phyllisia accidentally learned that she also had a sweet singing voice.

Throughout grade school Phyllisia cultivated her stage and musical presence by performing in numerous musicals and continuing her classical piano study. Her determination and dedication in music and education throughout her early years made it possible for her to attend both prestigious music and scholastically competitive schools, Bak Middle School of Performing Arts and Alexander W. Dreyfoos School for Performing Arts where she majored in vocal performance. In music school Phyllisia developed a broad and extensive appreciation for many different genres of music spanning from classical, jazz, r&b, reggae, and soul which she is heavily influenced by and incorporates in her music.

Although Phyllisia was extremely successful in music school and had already began embarking on her recording artist career, she always promised herself that she would get a degree in Biology, which she graduated with in 2010 from the University of Miami. Before her father passed when she was 10 she always promised him that she would get the education needed to become a doctor, a promise that she wanted to keep. “Being well rounded and using all of God’s gifts and resources is and always will be a priority to me” says Phyllisia. “If I have the brainpower and will to pursue an academic and recording career, I must.” Phyllisia has performed in multiple countries such as the USA, Haiti, Jamaica and multiple islands in the Caribbean, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Phyllisia has also collaborated with artists and musicians spanning across many genres including Jah Cure, NeYo, the Game, Young Jeezy, and the musicians of Winstons Crew Collective.

In addition to her passion for music and education, she is also committed to using her gifts to help her mother’s native land of Haiti. She has become a part of the Project Medishare for Haiti family and is devoted to making a difference. Expect great music from this young artist in multiple genres in the near future- R&B, soul, pop, smooth jazz, reggae, zouk & kompa.
