Kate Beckinsale Cut Her Hair Into a Lob! (PHOTO)
In today’s surprising beauty news: Kate Beckinsale has a lob (a.k.a. long bob)!
The actress debuted the major mane makeover — a textured, shoulder-grazing long bob — at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences new members reception on Wednesday evening, and we’re still trying to cope with the unexpected style switch-up.
From the looks of it, the actress chopped a solid amount of hair off — easily about six inches. But don’t worry, Beckinsale didn’t change everything about her signature look. She kept her enviable glossy brunette hue and honey highlights, so it wasn’t a total hair 180.

The barely-past-the-shoulders cut is quickly becoming a favorite among celebs this fall. Stars including Amanda Seyfried, Chrissy Teigen (pre-extensions), Nicole Scherzinger and even Kim Kardashian have all made the mid-length chop this season. Is the slightly longer lob the new bob? We’re thinking yes.
