According to reports from CBS Philadelphia, the plot has thickened regarding the George Zimmerman vs DMX fight, as Floyd Mayweather Sr. has been recruited to be the referee.  Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman has put together loads of big named and money boxing matches between some very well-known names amoungst the famous elite, and now he’s locked in 43-year-old DMX, legally known as Earl Simmons, to fight 30-year-old George Zimmerman.  Previously, rapper The Game showed his eagerness to fight Zimmerman, but Feldman decided to go in another direction.  Feldman spoke to CBS Philadelphia about how he came to pick DMX out of the vast amount of people who inquired about fighting Zimmerman.

“I’ve gotten over 15,000 emails, I had to end [the submissions to fight Zimmerman] there.  Very angry, I had everything from celebrities to [rapper] The Game… I got into it with him on TMZ the other day. Floyd Mayweather Sr. is the referee with this, we’re very excited.

“It’s DMX. Hip hop star, legend. He called him out on TMZ this week. It’s controversy versus controversy. I know this country wants to see this guy get [George Zimmerman’s] [expletive] kicked.

“He said he’s been training, yes. He’s training every day.  I have to see if DMX is training, if he’s not training, we’ll have to go in a different direction.”

Hopefully DMX really is training hard for this fight.  If he loses it will be a bigger upset than when Mike Tyson got dropped and stopped by James Buster Douglas.  If DMX isn’t training for the fight, we all know The Game is ready and willing to endure the necessary preparation to make sure he is in the best shape possible when it comes time to brawl.
