The amount of talent to come out of Florida in recent years has been quite impressive, especially with the assistance of the internet and social media. The distinctive Florida bounce has been hard to miss following the tone set in the 90’s from the likes of Trina and Trick Daddy. Newcomers, such as rap artist C Glizzy who comes from Pompano Beach, Florida, is adding to this soundscape while also bringing a fresh new perspective to the industry.

What’s most impressive about C Glizzy’s artistry is his ability to deliver a sound that is raw and uncut but has fans still bobbing their heads along to it. His most recent project Numb the Pain is a prime example of this, which makes it hard to believe that he’s only been rapping professionally for under three years. He talks about the experience he faced after getting shot in the head, which gave him not only a new focus on life, but a renewed energy for his music. C Glizzy, whose birth name is Christian Moore, draws a lot of inspiration from rappers like DMX, Chief Keef, and 2 Pac who found their own ways of expressing their pain through music.

The young rapper notes the importance of having a plan and following it through. “If you gone be out here in the world, don’t be half stepping,” he explains. “You better have a plan.” His plan to take over the industry is in full motion with him already opening for charting artists like Polo G, Lil Tecca, Smokepurpp, and Lil Mosey. While he’s been able to perform across the nation, Florida is still true to his heart and he’s preparing to release an EP titled Florida Boyz with an intent to bring together the hottest up and coming artists out of Florida. His new single featuring Foolio is set to release soon as well.

Loki Releases A Double Feature “Take Control” & “F*cked Up”

Loki, an emerging recording artist out of Fort Pierce, Florida, with a buzzing style and failure is not an option mentality, is quickly becoming one of the year’s most exciting new artists in today’s music. After securing popularity in 2022 with a string of breakout tracks, Loki kicks things into overdrive as he ascends to new heights and claims control of the game with the release of his latest tracks, properly titled “Take Control” and “Fucked Up.”

Both track are accompanied by music videos. On “Fucked Up,” Loki cruises the streets of Fort Pierce in the flyest cars, lavish wardrobe, and flashy jewelry. The visual showcases the pride of his community and the unwavering love they have for the emerging star.

On the Tazerboy-directed “Take Control,” Loki and love interest enjoy various nights of passion in the bedroom and resort’s shark-infested poolside. Loki and the leading lady take control of each other at various points of the visual. “Take Control” arrives at the perfect time as the summertime flings quickly approach. On both visuals, Loki exhibits impressive lyricism, undeniable appeal, and crossover capabilities that we’ve naturally seen come out of Florida in the past.

“Take Control” and “Fucked Up” are the perfect origin point for newfound fans of the Florida native. Loki’s career is built on persistence, a trait he credits to his late brother. “Sometimes it gets frustrating but I think about my brother and keep going,” he demands. “I’m very persistent. When I’m locked in on something, my mind is focused on it.”

Loki’s journey into music began with a promise to his late-brother who passed away several years ago. when he released the Burga321-featured hit “Favorite Things,” Loki’s style took center stage and star power rose to mainstream prominence. “I knew that I wasn’t always musically inclined. So I started going the extra length to learn how things work. I took it upon myself to learn that craft because of what he was going through,” he explains. “For a whole year, I seen him talking with the microphone to his throat. He would still try to talk, knowing that he couldn’t talk. That’s what motivated me to try to do music.

Outside the music, Loki and his large family were raised by the streets of Fort Pierce. “We didn’t have anywhere to go,” he remembers. “We went to rooming houses and churches and kept getting denied because it was too many of us. We landed somewhere… I remember bathing in a five-gallon bucket because the tub was so dirty… After my mother bathed us, she took us from over there. There’s a lot of animosity in Fort Pierce, but once you get into a circle where it’s love, it’s real genuine.”

Loki is signed to MixBlood Entertainment — his older brother Lailo’s record label. “Fucked Up” appears on the label’s compilation effort released in August 2022. Following the 2022 project, Loki is currently developing the anticipated full-length follow-up, slated for 2023 release. Meanwhile, the rising star promises more new music to come to build anticipation for the album. Fans can stay up-to-date on all things Loki via social media.

Yas 21 Releases New Single “Do It 4 Yas”

Yas 21 is one of the hottest new artists to watch coming out of Toronto — by way of Montreal, Quebec — with his infectious vocals and the magnetic blend of dance and hip-hop sound. As his music spreads stateside, he delivers his best work yet, heading into the summer with the release of his new single, properly titled “Do It 4 Yas,” a tribute track to Yas 21’s younger brother, Young A Stunnin, who unfortunately passed away in September 2022.

Featuring assistance in a powerful vocal performance by Yas’ younger brother and fellow upcoming recording artist Gleechie of Busy Bros, “Do It 4 Yas” tells a uniquely crafted nightmare-ish bounce with attention-grabbing storytelling that will have you racing to the dance floor immediately. The song’s production delivers an intensely hypnotizing feeling that will pulse through your body like being struck by lightning that hasn’t been duplicated since Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

“Basically, when I was making this beat, my approach was something grungy that almost feel like rock but more dance when it comes to percussion for the first part,” said Yas 21 in a press release. “Then I knew I wanted a rapper on the second half but wanted the ambiance to almost feel like a horror movie follows with a hard bass groove for most of the drop afterward and then a little splatter of that amazing Indian percussion groove which to my taste increases the climax in terms of originality.”

“Do It 4 Yas” is the perfect origin point for newfound fans to begin exploring the emerging artist’s music as he prepares for an unstoppable summer that will showcase his limitless potential and versatility, which leads to an anticipated album coming in late 2023. Promising more new music on the way, he explained:

“I have a lot of songs in the vault ready to be released now. The only focus is making all this beautiful music coexist with each other without it feeling like is jumping from one vibe to another since I’m pretty versatile.”

A brief history on Yas 21, he developed a cutting-edge sound based on the studies of a unique selection of today’s biggest stars in EDM and Hip-Hop, including Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, David Guetta, and Metro Boomin. On his rise, he crafted a signature sound that he describes as haunting melodies and hypnotic production blended into a harmonic cacophony of rhythm and sound. He has already been heavily prophecized as one of Canada’s next-up to blow.

“Do It 4 Yas” was recently featured on Complex Canada’s Best New Tracks upon its release.
