Openly Gay Rappers Criticize Eminem for Use of Gay Slurs (@Eminem)

Eminem’s new song “Rap God” has brought him major criticism for his use of gay slurs in the track. While many believe the song to be great, members of the LGBT community have come forward to voice their opinion on Em still using derogatory gay slurs in his music.  One individual is an openly gay singer-songwriter/rapper named Solomon who was previously brought onto Eminem’s Shade 45 radio channel.

“When he invited me on his radio station a few years ago, I thought he put all of this aside.  He’s using the word f*ggot to degrade another man. As if the worst thing a man can be is gay. What type of message does that embed into the minds of young kids, both gay and straight?”

Solomon’s openly gay labelmate and fellow rapper LastO added to Solomon’s criticism.

“He’s a lil’ too old to be using gay and f*g and sh*t as an insult; playground s**t.  It’s ironic because I’m sure when he was coming of age, more black folks walked over him…than anyone gay ever did.”

What are your thoughts on Eminem’s continued use of gay slurs in his music?
