A Detroit mother is furious with her child’s school, after they failed to notify her of a violent altercation. The 8-year-old, Jordan Robinson, came home to his mother with 27 pencil stab wounds, inflicted by a rowdy special needs student. The mother, Joy Renee Pratt, was incredulous as to why the school never thought to give her a call.

“They should have to call you,” said Pratt. “If something happens to your child, in their care, they should have to call you!”

According to the Garden City Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Gary Murrell, there was no indication that the special needs student meant to hurt Robinson. Pratt was predictably more angry about the school’s failure to call than she was about the actual attack.
