Step aside ladies, a professional is here to lend helping hand. After beating the faces of celebrities and models all over the world, face painter extraordinaire Sir John has been named a new celebrity makeup artist for L’Oreal Paris. What that means, exactly? The New York resident will help the brand hopes to bring more “transparency” to consumers through social media and apps, allow us to play a role in the decision-making process and of course developing more products.

But thinking about it, we realized you might not be too familiar with his name, though you are definitely familiar with his work! His biggest client? Beyonce! Yeah, that happened.  With her as his leading lady, the creative has become known for his work with eyes, particularly with liners and is expected to bring that to the forefront in his new position.

But while we wait for it all to manifest itself let’s take a look back at five moments he helped to create with the faces he beat.

It was definitely his work with this star — which started with the Tom Ford Spring 2011 show, and has lead to both the Mrs Carter Show Tour and the On The Run tour — that put the creative on our radar.

Mobby Rosas – “Up To Sum” f/ Westside Boogie (Video) + “The 4th Step” (Album)

The track “up to sum” is one of my favorite stories of how a collaboration came about. WESTSIDE BOOGIE had posted an open verse challenge for his song “Mood” on instagram and I picked it up. I’ve done a few open verse challenges before, to no favorable outcome other than just posting more content. I didn’t think much would come of this verse entry. I recorded my video audition for the song while at work, I was a server at a hotel restaurant in downtown LA, in uniform and all. I posted it and tagged WS Boogie and to my surprise, he DM’d me saying that he thought my verse was hard and if I ever wanted him on a project, he was down. I remember reading the message at work and being in shock. I had wanted to work with WS Boogie for years and had even tried to reach out in the past, to no response. I immediately hopped on the opportunity to.
