Every now and then you just come across an artist that captivates you in a way that almost forces you to listen. Mississippi’s own D. Horton is someone with the charismatic force and honest music that ultimately makes him that type. The first line on his latest album The Sessions 2, “What if you were God?”, song by song the listener has to pay attention to every poignantly planned bar.
Some of the project’s standout’s include Work Hard 4 The Money, which finds Horton and Shar J taking an inside look into love and what it should mean. Been Frank finds the rapper asking about the worth of himself, and what his path should be in the end. Another highlight is D. Horton taking the time to pair with King Los for Third Base, which is more of a lyrical exercise for the two as both show up strong.
