It’s been a few years since we’ve had a royal wedding to get excited about, and as we wait to see what Princess-to-be Sofia Hellqvist wears down the aisle to marry Prince Carl Philip of Sweden on June 13, we’re taking a closer look at her engagement ring.

The first thing you need to know: The sparkler most likely isn’t a family heirloom. Prince Philip reportedly got the ring from court jeweler W.A. Bolin in Stockholm, collaborating with jewelers on the design. The same luxe jewelry house made the ring for Princess Victoria (Philip’s sister).

The round center stone is surrounded by a halo of diamonds and sits on a double-diamond band.

“The ring has fine proportions and fits in well with the charity work she does in South Africa. Here it is important that the stone isn’t too large,” jewelery expert Johanna Pietsch told the website Royalista, estimating that the center diamond is less than a carat.
