Thom Yorke Soundtracks Radiohead Artist Stanley Donwood’s Art Exhibit

Thom Yorke has created the soundtrack for The Panic Office, a new exhibit in Sydney, Australia that showcases the artwork of Stanley Donwood, longtime visual collaborator with Radiohead, Yorke, and Atoms for Peace. The soundtrack is called “Subterranea”, according to Australian radio station Triple J. On Twitter, Donwood shared a video of the exhibit where Yorke’s soundtrack is audible. You can check that out here, and check out some of the images from the exhibit below. 

Triple J reports that Yorke’s soundtrack is divided into three levels, quoting a press release as saying, “subs will boom from the floor, mids will echo through the walls, while the highs rain down from the ceiling.”

The Panic Office, which began yesterday at Carriageworks, features thousands of original pieces, including artwork for Radiohead, Thom Yorke, and Atoms For Peace, as well as some previously-unseen art. There are currently no plans to release the soundtrack, meaning it can only be heard at the exhibit, which runs through June 6. (A press release quoted by Triple J notes that “no minute is the same over the 18 days.”)
