Glamour’s 25th Women of The Year Awards took place earlier this week in New York City, where 25 exceptional women were honored for their achievements in entertainment, fashion, sports, and more. Ballerina and honoree, Misty Copeland, was spotted on the red carpet rocking haute curly tresses and a beautiful natural makeup look.
Copeland received recognition for her trail blazing work in the ballet industry which includes becoming the first African American ballerina to become principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre. Misty changed the game on the stage by redefining standards of beauty. Her skin tone and curvy frame were expected to be obstacles in the uniformed industry, however, Misty didn’t allow formal perceptions of body image to stop her but rather motivate her.
