One of the most awesome things about Kate Winslet is her attitude toward her image and unrealistic standards of beauty.

She’s spoken about how Hollywood treats women in the past, but recently revealed something that defies all the rules. In an interview with E! News at the Elle Women in Hollywood event, Winslet admitted to requiring in contract with L’Oréal to make her Lancôme ads free of re-touching.

As we all know, re-touching has led to the most blatant offenses we’ve seen in print, but it’s more than just looking distorted to the 40-year-old actress.

“It does feel important to me because I do think we have a responsibility to the younger generation of women,” she said. “I think they do look to magazines. I think they do look to women who have been successful in their chosen careers and they want people to look up to, and I would always want to be telling the truth about who I am to that generation because they’ve got to have strong leaders. We’re all responsible for raising strong young women, so these are things that are important to me.”

And there you have it. Simple and plain.

If you want to control your image in Hollywood, you need to be persistent and put it in writing. We #obvi want to applaud the mother-of-three for being so dope, but we also want to applaud the beauty brands that support requests like these.
