If you’ve never had a knack for being crafty, then we’re sure this news will make you want to work on your creative chops!

Shares of Etsy Inc, the online destination for all things handmade and crafty, doubled in its debut this week, now valuing the company at $3.88 billion – yup, you read that right!

The company went public on Thursday and made quite a bang on Wall Street – especially since its shares raised about $267 million, closing in at around $30 a share. And now Etsy stands as the largest B Corporation to go public in the U.S.

We have to say this doesn’t come off as much of a surprise to us, especially since the website has grown from selling wooden goods in 2005 to offering an endless list of handmade vintage items. You can literally find everything from jewelry, to clothing and even stationary just within a few clicks.

But that’s not even the best part! According to Business of Fashion, consumer market research firm, Euromonitor, reported “the global online retail market is expected to grow about 17 percent to $1.5 trillion between 2013 and 2018.” Which simply means that this is just the beginning for the online craft marketplace.
