Zoe Kravitz made a shocking confession in her latest interview.

In Complex magazine, the 26-year-old revealed that she struggled with an eating disorder as a teenager, and it was until the last two years that she has been free of those tendencies.

“I had a really hard time when I was 16, 17, 18. I started with the eating disorder in high school….” she said. “Just [a hard time] loving myself.”

Kravitz went on to say that it was the pressure from being in the celebrity world that led to her eating disorder.

“I think it was part of being a woman, and being surrounded by [fame],” she said. “I don’t think it was about the fame, but I think it was definitely about being around that world, seeing that world. I felt pressured.”

It was while filming “The Road Within” that her mom Lisa Bonet became concern for Kravitz, and Kravitz revealed she didn’t get her period regularly, her immune system shut down and she wasn’t receptive to friends encouraging her weight gain. “I was like, ‘I don’t want to gain weight,’ as opposed to being like, ‘Good, I’m a normal human being.’”

It must have been hard for Kravitz to open up about her eating disorder, but she is definitely helping the over 24 million people in the United States suffering from the disease. However, she is not the first celeb to be a voice for the disease.

From Demi Lovato to Lady Gaga, many celebs have raised awareness about the severity of anorexia or bulimia through very shocking confessions. And it is not only female celebrities. Male celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Russell Brand and Elton John have also suffered from eating disorders.

Mobby Rosas – “Up To Sum” f/ Westside Boogie (Video) + “The 4th Step” (Album)

    Published

The track “up to sum” is one of my favorite stories of how a collaboration came about. WESTSIDE BOOGIE had posted an open verse challenge for his song “Mood” on instagram and I picked it up. I’ve done a few open verse challenges before, to no favorable outcome other than just posting more content. I didn’t think much would come of this verse entry. I recorded my video audition for the song while at work, I was a server at a hotel restaurant in downtown LA, in uniform and all. I posted it and tagged WS Boogie and to my surprise, he DM’d me saying that he thought my verse was hard and if I ever wanted him on a project, he was down. I remember reading the message at work and being in shock. I had wanted to work with WS Boogie for years and had even tried to reach out in the past, to no response. I immediately hopped on the opportunity to.
