Jay Z is in yet another legal battle, this time over his track “Run This Town.” Record label Tuf America filed legal papers against Roc Nation for sampling a song they own, “Hook and Sling” by Eddie Bo.
“TufAmerica did not authorize the defendants’ reproduction, distribution or public performance of the audio recording ‘Run This Town’ in a music video or in the albums,” reads their suit.
Apparently, the song is fairly popular among producers affiliated with Hov. Roc-A-Fella Records was sued previously for illegally sampling the track, the previous time stemming from Kanye’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” album.
