Scream 2 Album: The Sequel — When Halloween Takes Over Detroit

Two Detroit-born rap collectives and a drummer-turned-lyricist have joined forces to create one of the most adrenaline-fueled, spine-tingling Halloween experiences of the year. Scream 2 Album: The Sequel isn’t just a project — it’s a cinematic trip through the city’s haunted heart, where the supernatural collides with street realism.

This 7-track collaboration between 53X (Aussie Powers, Paul Berra) and GGB DEATHSQUAD (Knifefvght, Nxversleep, Astronomikill, and GGB Zel), featuring 13, fuses alternative rap, rage rap, metal trap, and pop-punk rock. The result is dark, theatrical, and alive with energy — a reflection of Detroit’s gritty pulse wrapped in Halloween horror.

53X: The Dynamic Duo of the Muddy Mitten

Once a trio, now a powerhouse duo, 53X embodies the dual forces defining Detroit’s experimental rap scene — emotion and aggression, melody and menace.

Aussie Powers

Born with a damaged eardrum that left him deaf in one ear, Aussie Powers turned adversity into motivation. He began performing in middle school talent shows before finding his sound through The Garden Community, a collective that helped refine his signature blend of chaos and control. Known for his fiery ad-lib “NAHH FUKK!,” his flow swings between raw street ferocity and melodic vulnerability. After years working in Detroit’s strip and night clubs, he mastered how to move people through rhythm — his music now bridging pain and power with unapologetic energy.

Paul Berra

Detroit’s Paul Berra delivers sharp, introspective lyricism shaped by authenticity and heart. Starting his music journey in 10th grade, he carved out a space for substance over flash. Influenced by Yeat and Playboi Carti, his flow balances ruthless precision with reflective calm — giving voice to both Detroit’s struggle and its relentless drive.

GGB DEATHSQUAD: The Goth-Industrial Rebels of the Underground

GGB DEATHSQUAD is Detroit’s dark-wave collective breaking every boundary in alternative rap. With roots in goth, metal, industrial, and emo, their sound merges chaos and cohesion — pushing the culture into uncharted territory.

Knifefvght

Detroit native Knifefvght is the architect of the squad’s sound — a dark-wave, metal-trap force who merges aggression with melody. A veteran of the underground, he’s known for projects like Rareform and Baragaki, blending hardcore, punk, and industrial influence into emotional intensity. As a founding leader of GGB, he drives the group’s charge into new sonic territory.

Nxversleep

A nonbinary artist from Metro Detroit, Nxversleep began their musical path at age 10, cutting their teeth on pop-punk and metal before transitioning into hip-hop during the SoundCloud era. Influenced by Blink-182, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Lil Peep, they combine emotional storytelling with raw, rage-fueled energy. After enduring heartbreak and hardship during the pandemic, Nxversleep reemerged stronger — turning pain into power and community through GGB, which they call their chosen family.

Astronomikill

“I make rap, trap metal, alt, indie, and bedroom pop,” says Astronomikill, who began writing songs on paper plates at age six. Joining GGB in 2024, he found a creative home among kindred spirits and turned his lifelong passion into presence. His sound blends heavy, haunting emotion with dreamlike escapism — balancing raw chaos with melodic finesse.

GGB Zel

Though GGB Zel only appears briefly in a skit, his presence carries weight — teasing his upcoming three-track Halloween EP. Zel anchors GGB’s sound with Detroit authenticity, grounding their wild experimentation with street-bred confidence. His voice, like Aussie Powers, stands as one of the truest reflections of Detroit’s heartbeat.

13: The Phantom Drummer

13 brings rhythm, aggression, and mystique to Scream 2 Album: The Sequel. Known as the drummer for hardcore goth band Second Salem, he channels Ghostemane-inspired fury with an eerie edge. His moniker “13” — representing the letters in his real name, which he’s never revealed — cements his aura as one of the project’s most mysterious forces.

Detroit’s Dark Collective

These collectives  have shared stages on tour with Virginia Beach’s trap-metal artist Old Soul, UK dark-trap artist Percy Bones, and  hispanic dark-trap artist Sagan Ummo, and have twice opened for Detroit legend Bizarre of D12.

Together, 53X and GGB DEATHSQUAD redefine the city’s alt-rap scene — raw, emotional, and cinematic. Scream 2 Album: The Sequel blends horror, truth, and sound into something that feels like Detroit’s heartbeat on Halloween night: dangerous, electric, and aliv
