Brand New Short Film Screening & Listening Party Experience

Award Winner Actor Denzel Whitaker has come a long way from his Training Day debut alongside Macy Gray. Now with the title director, he has taken his talent to new heights with the release of his highly anticipated short film Brand New. Not only did he co-direct this body of work with Award Winning Director Quincy Ledbetter, (THE BLACK DISQUISITION), but he also stars it in it alongside Kris D. Lofton and Maestro Harrell.

After a successful 2024 festival world tour including six nominations and the International Audience Award at Tokyo Short Shorts, the two cane together yet again for a Los Angeles screening, Q&A, and listening party. Geared toward creatives, tastemakers, and film buffs, the pair created space for a more intimate and immerse experience of the film. Held at the infamous NeueHouse in Hollywood, guests were seen eating food catered by Your Boyfriend Can’t Cook,  and taking pictures on the red carpet, while Jay Reeves spun on the 1’s and 2’s.

As the film went under the way, attendees got a chance to see how fame, fortune and talent can shatter close personal relationships testing brotherhood, loyalty and survival. Whitaker and Ledbetter did an amazing job of bringing a very realistic, and relatable story to life that many people in entertainment experience everyday. Following the screening, Etienne Maurice hosted a Q&A with the cast and ALLBLK team, followed by a listening party powered by Maestro Harrell who did the score for the film.

This is hands down one of the best short films of the year! Denzel Whitaker and Quincy Ledbetter curated an amazing night that marked such a special moment in time. Brand New is now available for streaming on AMC+ and ALLBLK!
