American retailer, J. Crew, is making headlines again – but not for its usual disheartening news. The company’s head stylist, Gayle Spannaus, sat with the New York Observer to give them a look of the brand’s color library. And along with showcasing its 3,633 color swatches (which include patterns as well), Spannaus had another important issue to discuss: fall’s most popular hues.

According to the fashion insider, the most versatile colors to invest in next season will be (cue the drum roll): canary yellow and camel. Spannaus noted that the while camel is an obvious neutral palette, canary is “super versatile and complimentary to every skin tone.” And if you ask us, the two hues get a major thumbs-up. While yellow is a pigment that’s usually reserved for warmer seasons, its bright shade is one that can be perfectly paired with a variety of other colors.

And as far as fall’s most unexpected hue, Spannaus informed the publication that cobalt will be the shade to look out for. “It works off of everything and it is in everyone’s wardrobe. It is definitely the most versatile of the brights.”

What are your thoughts StyleBlazers? Are you on board with Spannaus’s fall prediction?
