American Music Awards (AMA’s) : Performance Recap

Last night the 2013 American Music Awards went down at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California. Artist from all genres of music came together to celebrate the success of their peers and there definitely were some highlights from last nights award show. One of the most talked about moments was Rihanna’s decision to wear her hair wrap and hair pins during last night’s award show. Social media lit up as everyone discussed the singers hairstyle and whether or not she was deserving of the AMA’s first ever Icon Award with only eight years in the industry. Nonetheless, the “bad gal” herself looked beautiful as she performed “Diamonds” for the crowd and copped her Icon Award from her mom.

Lil Mama does yet another great job as she channels Left Eye as the special guest during TLC’s performance of “Waterfalls”.

Holding it down for the Hip Hop part of the show, Kendrick Lamar performed his singles “Swimming Pools” & “Poetic Justice” featuring TDE’s very own SZA.

Ariana Grande put her voice on display as she performed her single “Tattooed Heart” off of her album Yours Truly and then she won the Best New Artist Award following her performance.
