Ariel Pink is getting ready to head out on a tour with the Black Lips, but he’s also just announced two one-off specialty shows. One is a performance accompanied by members of the Colorado Symphony. During the other, he’ll perform the music of krautrock greats Ash Ra Tempel alongside the band’s founding member Manuel Göttsching.

The Colorado Symphony’s string section will accompany Pink at his July 23 date at Redrocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. He’ll be opening for DeVotchka.

The Ash Ra Tempel performance will take place on August 8 at this year’s Supersense, a festival in Melbourne, Australia. Pink and Göttsching will perform alongside Shags Chamberlain and Oren Ambarchi. The set will feature “reimagined and improvised repertoire”. Pink will also perform a solo set during the festival
