Best Foot Forward: Marchesa Is Launching A Luxury Shoe Line

When it comes to Fashion Week, most brands typically wait until its runway debut to unravel any big surprises that may keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Well, as you probably already know: Marchesa isn’t most brands. The fashion house known for its gorgeous gowns announced its decision to launch a shoe collection – and we’re convinced it will be nothing less than luxurious.

Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman told WWD that she’s always envisioned the label as a “lifestyle brand and including a full shoe collection is an important part of that vision.” Chapman also revealed that customers, fans and retail outlets of the fashion house have been incredibly vocal about wanting Marchesa to jump into the footwear game – so that’s exactly what it’s doing.

The announcement comes two weeks after revealing that the brand has teamed up with NWH to make a jewelry range, as well. And with the name becoming a go-to label for celebrities making their way down the red carpet (think Rita Ora and Jennifer Lopez) and the isle (we can’t forget Blake Lively’s stunning gown!), now there will be even more to look forward to once the brand debuts the range during its SS16 catwalk.
