We don’t know about you, but when Drew Barrymore dishes beauty advice, we take note. We also perk up when the actress and Flower Beauty founder tests out her products on the red carpet (and let’s be honest — just about everywhere else). Since we can’t get enough, we talked to the beauty pro behind her latest major makeup moment. (And Drew sent us exclusive before and after snaps too!)
Makeup artist Robin Fredriksz created Barrymore’s “subtle, smoky, fresh” look in just 30 minutes using a variety of Flower Beauty products.
“We collaborated on the colors, but I wanted to surprise her on the application, so I didn’t have her sit in front of a mirror,” Fredriksz told People of working with the actress.
The duo wanted the main focus of the look to be on Barrymore’s beautiful eyes. Fredriksz used a combination of two different That’s So Kohl! eyeliners, Tell Me No Lilacs and Illumin-eye-zer. For the shadow, she used Flower’s new Play Eye Shadow Quad in Dusk ‘Til Dawn (available at Walmart stores). Fredriksz topped the eye with Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara in black.
“I really like that the Shadow Play Eye Shadow Quad can be used wet and dry,” Barrymore’s pro said. “For this application, I used it wet. Dip a brush in into water, apply color to brush and then do a couple swipes on the back of your wrist, and then apply to the eyelid. This makes it more damp with color than wet.”

To highlight the actress’s cheeks, Fredriksz used a Transforming Touch Powder-To-Crème blush in A Coral Ble. And of course, pulling the whole look together was her perfect pout thanks to Kiss Stick High Shine Lip Color in Baby Buttercup.
“We really wanted to give a color story, it’s not something she does all the time,” Fredriksz shared.
The colorful makeup was a great way to punch up Barrymore’s sleek all-black Stella McCartney jacket and flare pants. It also was the perfect complement to her messy, textured side braid. Basically, Barrymore nailed it last night!
