If You Have These Madewell Sandals, You’ll Want To Return Them, STAT!

If you’ve invested in a few lust-worthy sandals from Madewell this past summer season, then now’s the time to listen up!

According to WWD, the brand is recalling over 50,000 pairs of sandals from its spring 2015 collection – specifically, its ‘Sightseer’ sandals that have probably landed a few spots in your #OOTD posts. The recall is due to eight incidences of “metal shanks dislodging and breaking through the bottom of the outsole,” leading to a not-so-chic downfall.

Madewell turned to Facebook to announce the recall, stating that the notice applies to 10 of its ‘Sightseer’ sandals (shown above), which retailed from $60 – $80 and were sold both in-store and online. There’s also a notice on the top corner of their homepage site linking back to the major recall.

As a result, the retailer is granting full refunds for all the styles affected. So if you added any of the included leather sandals into your spring / summer wardrobes, it’s time to retire them … like right now.

As far as we’re concerned, we’re hoping this is just a small hiccup in Madewell’s seasonal must-haves, simply because the label holds a soft spot in our vintage aesthetic.
