The athleisure trend has shown no signs of slowing down in the last couple of years, with new collaborations and collections popping up almost every week.
However, one woman learned the hard way that a sports bra might not be the best piece of clothing beyond the gym.
According to The Mirror (via Grazia Daily), a personal trainer was in a local coffee shop when she was approached by an employee to cover up. Davina Ward was reportedly wearing a sports bra and leggings. When she responded that she has nothing to cover up with, that was when she was asked to leave the coffee shop.
“It wasn’t the fact they asked me to leave but the woman that served me was the one that asked me to leave,” she told ITV London.”If she had a problem she should have only allowed me to takeaway.”
However, the woman believes she was kicked out not because she was wearing inappropriate clothing, which she wears everywhere, but because of her body.
“I feel like I’ve been thrown out on the basis of being fit and healthy.”
The coffee shop has apologized to the woman, and is currently looking into the situation.
