Jack White and the Kills‘ Alison Mosshart‘s band the Dead Weather are preparing to release their new album Dodge and Burn on September 25. Today, the band have shared the first video in a four-part series detailing each member’s instrumental setup in connection to a Dead Weather single. Check it out below via Modern Drummer.
The first episode features White, who discusses his custom-made Ludwig kit (that he designed, naturally) and his percussion on the Dead Weather’s 2009 single “Hang You From The Heavens”. Then, to illustrate his points and draw attention to the various technical intricacies, White performs the song with an alternate drum pattern alongside the rest of the band at Third Man Records.
The Dead Weather will perform on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on September 14.
