We’re still not done talking about the gorgeous diamond floral headpiece she wore to the Met Gala, but Kate Hudson has just given us another major mane moment to focus on: a new short haircut!

“First day on set of new film and they’re going to town on my hair,” the actress captioned the above photo on Instagram, showing off the freshly shaved inches for her film Deepwater Horizon. The shoulder-grazing look isn’t too dramatic, but it’s the shortest the star’s hair has been in a while. Her stylist, Ghd brand ambassador David Babaii, also shared a photo of the cut on social media, writing, “Hot with long hair hot with short hair just sooooo amazingly hot that’s all I can say.”

Babaii also created Hudson’s chic bun for the Met Gala, one of the top beauty moments of the night.
