Man Punches Female Store Clerk in the Face Over 41 Cents

A store clerk is facing permanent damage and possible blindness after a man nearly twice her age punched her in the face over 41 cents.

The 23-year-old clerk, identified by police as “Yadira,” was working the store on September 7 when a man attempted to purchase a Swisher Sweet cigar with a one dollar bill. When Yadira refused to hand over the cigar, informing the man that it cost $1.41, he reached over the counter and clocked her right between the eyes.

The punch re-aggravated an existing childhood injury, and may lead to Yadira going at least partially blind.

Police are still looking for the assailant, who is described as in his late 30s and around 6’3″ in height.
