Mary J. Blige’s father, 63-year-old Thomas Blige, was tragically stabbed in his neck by his ex-girlfriend which has left him in critical condition. The incident occurred outside of his apartment in Battle Creek, Michigan, when they began arguing after he spotted her deflating his tires with a knife. His ex-romance eventually wound up brutally stabbing him three times, and once in his neck.
Blige was left to fend for himself as his assailant fled. He made his way back to his home where he phoned the police, who arrived at 6:58 a.m. and found him severely bleeding with multiple stab wounds. Thomas’ ex-girlfriend was discovered in a nearby apartment with blood stains on her clothes and charged with assault with intent to murder.
In the past, seven domestic violence complaints have occurred between them since August 2013. Blige’s ex-girl was charged with domestic violence in October, after beating on Thomas with a glass candlestick, and she was ordered to stay away from him. His daughter, Mary, has yet to comment on the assault on her father.
