Octavia Spencer To Star In ‘Murder, She Wrote’ Reboot

Wow!! Talk about out of nowhere!! Deadline just reported that Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will be starting in a reboot of the incredibly successful TV show Murder, She Wrote.  They’ll be changing up the story line a bit to fit with the current times but I’m sure it’s gonna work.  Because I know I wasn’t the only kid watching Angela Lansbury faithfully every week!!

Described as a light, contemporary procedural in the vein of Bones or Fargo, it follows a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth (Spencer) who self-publishes her first mystery novel. Set in a day where sensational headlines inundate the news, this woman’s avid fascination with true crime leads her to become an active participant in the investigations. FormerDesperate Housewivesexecutive producer Cunningham is writing and will executive produce with Janollari.

That’s an amazing opportunity for Octavia!! I really hope it works out, cuz I love seeing our Black actors in successful TV shows.  It’s long overdue! Since it’s in the works right now, I really wouldn’t expect this to actually happen until Fall 2014.  But I’m gonna tune in.  Who else is excited about this?Similar Posts:
