Recently, Robyn announced her new project La Bagatelle Magique. The group features keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt and the late producer Christian Falk. Today, she’s shared the first song from the project, “Love Is Free”, featuring Maluca. Annie Mac premiered the track on BBC Radio 1. Listen to it below.
“Love Is Free” comes from the trio’s upcoming mini-album (currently untitled), which will be out via Robyn’s Konichiwa Records, Cherrytree, and Interscope later this summer. Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique are set to perform at Stockholm’s Dans Dakar festival, which takes place August 21-22, and at Treasure Island Festival in San Francisco, which takes place October 17-18.
Update: In a new interview with FACT, Robyn revealed that the mini-album will also include “Set Me Free”, “Lose Control”, and the Arthur Russell cover “Tell You Today” from the recent Red Hot tribute album. There will also be a remix EP featuring Todd Terry, Mr. Tophat, and others.
