"Serial" Returns for Season Two With New Music by Nick Thorburn (The Unicorns, Islands)

The second season of the popular podcast “Serial” premiered today. Like the first season, it features music by Nick Thorburn, a.k.a. Nick Diamonds (The Unicorns, Islands). Listen to the first episode here. The new season focuses on the story of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

Speaking with Vulture, Thorburn said he made 25 pieces of music for this season, compared with 15 pieces for the first season. 

Thorburn also told Vulture his work on “Serial” won’t affect his work with Islands. He mentioned two albums that the band is hoping to release, as well as a reissue to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 2006’s Return to the Sea.
