We hear cases of this stuff happening all the time, but it never ceases to create a debate.

Sandy Frank, an 86-year-old television producer is suing his 66-year-old ex-fiancée, Patricia Berg for the engagement ring he gave her back in 2009. According to the New York Daily News, the 7.23 carat ring is worth a whopping $300,000. The couple broke up two months after the proposal.

In addition to the expensive ring, Frank showered his would-be bride-to-be with $9,000 Van Cleef & Arpels ear clips, $3,000 La Perla lingerie, a $6,000 Hermes bag and a $2,800 Hermes wallet. Five years later, he wants it all back. “He was a gentleman and she should behave as a lady,” his lawyer Suzanne Bracker said. “A lady does not keep what does not belong to her.”

In the meantime, Frank has been busy marrying and divorcing someone else. No word on if  that woman was able to keep her ring, but another battle for another day.
