Sky Ferreira has joined the cast of the Liza Johnson-helmed film Elvis & Nixon, The Hollywood Reporter reports. She joins a cast that will feature Michael Shannon as Elvis, Kevin Spacey as Richard Nixon, and a supporting cast that now includes Colin Hanks, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Knoxville, and Evan Peters of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The film traces an infamous meeting between Elvis and Nixon that took place on Dec. 21, 1970, after Elvis wrote Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a “Federal Agent-at-Large” for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
Pettyfer is playing Elvis’ best friend Jerry Schilling, a man who accompanied Elvis on the trip; Ferreira will play Schilling’s love interest.
According to the report, the film has started shooting in Atlanta.
