Fashion designers are always looking to make a splash during New York Fashion Week, but Victoria Beckham may have gotten a head start on them all. A week before showing her spring/summer collection, the star shows off something else new and stylish: her brand-new bangs.

Beckham was spotted out in London Sunday (just before touching down in the states) in a familiar look: long, low ponytail, un-basic black dress likely of her own design, oversized shades. The big twist? A new set of bangs.

Before you say, “Big deal, everyone has bangs,” consider this: Beckham’s last noteworthy set of short fringe was back in 2009, when she still had her bob. Since growing out her pixie into her “easier” signature side-parted style, the star has kept her beauty uniform simple, with long, unfussy layers in the front.
The new cut, featuring graduated bangs that range from “baby” to “sideswept,” is may-juh simply because she’s shaking things up a bit. What’s next: a new red carpet pose? (Kidding! She would never.)
