A rockstar’s best accessory is his hair. At least that seems to be the case for Jared Leto, who presented at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, using the occasion to present a new hot pink hair hue.
Before taking the stage to announce The Weeknd’s performance, the star revealed a sneak peek of his color switch-up on Twitter. And since his role as The Joker in Suicide Squad has wrapped filming, we expect way more hair changes from the color chameleon.

In the 20 years since we swooned over him as the shaggy-haired Jordan Catalano in My So Called Life, we’ve seen the 43-year-old star with platinum blond hair, green hair, braids, amazing ombré, a man bun — pretty much every color, length and style imaginable. Now we can collectively check off neon pink as a look we know Leto can rock.
“It’s hard to have him not end up on the ‘best hair’ lists — and that definitely hasn’t been our intention,” Leto’s hairstylist Chase Kusero told PEOPLE last year. “He does have amazing hair, so it’s kind of inevitable.”
UPDATE: Just in case you weren’t sure how exactly to classify his new shade, Leto would like you to know his color is in fact “pink.”
