SUMMER PAYTON ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF HER SINGLE, MORE THAN A LIE ON MAY 1, 2018

More Than a Lie is the first single Summer has released since her 2016 release of Untouchables. More Than a Lie was written and performed by Summer Payton and produced by Austin Crute. As most of her songs, the concept of More Than a Lie is based on a real life experience, a time in Summer’s life where she found herself pulled in two different directions, torn between two people. If you ask people if they would rather be told a lie or the truth, Summer says, “hands down most would probably say they want the truth.” More Than a Lie implies that perhaps the truth is not what you really want because in fact, often times “the truth hurts more than a lie.” It is her hope that because her songs come from a very real place, that people will not only relate, but will also benefit from the lessons she’s learned and expressed in song. Summer is releasing her new single, More Than a Lie, on May 1, 2018, just days before she graduates from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. MORE THAN A LIE is the first single off of her upcoming debut EP, So Free.
