Chromatics Share New Dear Tommy Song "Shadow"

Chromatics have released a new song called “Shadow”, as part of Adult Swim’s singles series. You can listen to it above. Read the lyrics here and check out a demo version of the track here

A longer version of “Shadow” opens up the fourth side of Chromatics’ forthcoming double LP Dear Tommy, which was completed in April. (Originally, the band teased a February release date.) It follows previously shared Dear Tommy tracks “In Films”“Just Like You”, and “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around”.

Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel offered a statement about “Shadow” and Dear Tommy:

Everyone has a shadow. There is no real difference between ten years ago and ten seconds ago. Your future determines your past. The flame of nostalgia is a tempting black hole to jump into, but I recognize it as a fantasy.

Romance is brave. So is simplicity. Love is a call to war. Why wouldn’t you want to respect music? Dear Tommy is the most rebellious record I’ve made.

Chromatics also recently covered Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” for a MANGO campaign that featured Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.
