Purity Ring, Tegan and Sara, Fucked Up, Metz, Metric Are Video Game Characters in LOUD on Planet X
LOUD on Planet X is a new arcade-style music game that’s currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. You play different prominent Canadian artists and use music as a weapon to fend off enemies. Artists you can choose to play as include Purity Ring (pictured above), Tegan and Sara, Fucked Up, Metz, Metric, Cadence Weapon, Austra, and others. It’s being billed as “an indie alternative to Rock Band or Guitar Hero with a splash of Plants vs Zombies – a new hybrid of rhythm game and classic shooter with tower defence elements.”
The game features an original score by Fucked Up‘s Mike Haliechuk and Jonah Falco as well as a different version by Broken Social Scene‘s Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff. Find two excerpts from the score above. One of the Kickstarter rewards is a green vinyl 7″ record featuring music from the scores.
The game will eventually be available via PS4, PS Vita, Steam, iOS, and Android.
