Raz B Coma Story Was A HOAX!!! Lies!!!

Singer Raz B formerly of the group B2K was never in a coma. Duh! Turns out the story was a hoax. I just never felt there was any truth to the coma rumors because 1) It’s Raz B 2) It reportedly took place in China 3) TMZ offered no pics, no updates, or follow-ups to prove the validity of the story, and 4) It’s Raz B!

I wanted to believe the story, but truth be told, I just don’t like De’Mario Monte Thornton, aka, Raz B, or his brother, Ricky Romance. I should have cared first about his well being and posted the story, but my initial and honest thoughts when first hearing about this coma BS were two words, “publicity stunt”. Surely, Raz B, wouldn’t stoop that low I reasoned, but then again look at history...

According to CNN Raz B’s real manager revealed the truth:

The singer’s brother, who performs under the name Ricky Romance, said in a statement sent to CNN Monday afternoon that he had been “misled by unknown reasons.”

“I was unfortunately unable to contact my brother at the time and then panicked,” Romance said. “I then alerted as many people of this information hoping to gather facts… Since the source that gave me this information was what I thought to be legitimately reliable I didn’t question I just believed. I apologize if I seem like I jumped to conclusions but a coma is a serious situation and it was concerning my brother whom is my best friend as well. I sincerely apologize for the confusion I caused if that is the case.”

A celebrity news website first reported the original member of the boy band B2K was in a coma Saturday, identifying its source as Toy Jones.

Although Jones gave CNN the same information Sunday, she declined to give the name of the hospital — only saying it was in the Zhejiang province near Shanghai…

CNN chose not to report the story until details could be confirmed by the U.S. State Department, officials at the U.S. embassy in China or Chinese officials. Raz B also reached out personally to CNN in an e-mail asking that nothing be published.

Rivers [Raz B’s rep] sent a statement distancing the singer from the coma report on Monday.

When CNN asked Jones about the statement, she said “as far as I know it is true” that he was in a coma. She said she was hired by Raz B’s family to get the story out to the news media.

Dozens of news agencies around the world — including in China — repeated the coma story, giving Raz B more publicity in one weekend than he’s likely had since his group disbanded nine years ago. Dayum even CNN got shade. {Read the rest of the article…}

“Wake Up” With Young Franco & Master Peace

It’s harder to wake up when you have mundane ish to do. Unveiling a brand new music video, Young France recruits UK Indie sensation Master Peace for huge new track Wake Up. Life becomes easier when you’re on the path to becoming a rockstar. The music video, shot in the UK, follows Young Franco and Master Peace individually, through a first-person lens as they undertake “mundane” daily activities until they then meet and begin to enjoy the iconic streets and taxis of London together. Franco spoke on the track:

Working with Master Peace has been an amazing experience. I found out about his project via his record “Eyes on You” and have wanted to work with him since that moment. I was writing a bunch of tracks in 2020. One of them being an early version of Wake Up, which I wrote with Elliot from Delta Riggs. I connected with Master Peace online and once I got to London last year, we smashed this in a couple of hours. His new record is fantastic and I’m super excited how this one turned out. Special mention to Danio from Husky Loops for some added production too.

Young Franco has started 2024 off with a bang, where he teamed up with UK rapper S1mba for the release of the funk laid hip hop track HITA. Wake Up follows a busy year of touring already, where he has done a sold out run of Europe with a string of sold-out shows in the USA.
