B.M.B. Records’ 13-year-old rap artist Que 9 who made quite a splash with his celebrated lead single earlier this year, is about to start an epidemic of seismic proportion with his new full-length EP Epidemic dropping nationwide today.

After the success of Que’s summer hit “Splash” which had thousands of kids young and old taking a stab at what became known virally as #QueSplashChallenge; the ambitious entertainer got in the lab with Florida beat makers “The Crew” (Jace and Brisk) to expand his body of work. The marathon recording session that ensued led to the Epidemic project that Que is now referring to as his greatest accomplishment.

“Other than “Splash”, me and The Crew created and recorded the entire album in 3 days…this was the hardest I’ve ever worked in a studio,” explains Que 9. “The fast pace drove and pushed me to become a better artist and to have more respect for my craft.”

B.M.B. Records CEO Brian Maurice Brown beams with pride when it comes to Que, born Quarrion Phillips. “I’m amazed by his rapid growth, humility and the evolution of his content and work ethic” he says. In terms of the music, Brown describes singles “Pep Rally” as an “anthem for getting athletes and grinders in general motivated and explains that ‘FaceTime speaks to people of all ages and is extremely related in today’s culture’”. BMB’s visionary added that the Motor City-based independent label will be putting its full arsenal of support behind the project and for the personal and professional development of Que 9.

While the rising rap star has blessed countless stages across the country with his electric showmanship and rambunctious delivery, his first big show was 2015 Summer Jam in his hometown. From there he joined the I Wanna See You Dance Tour line up where he held his own among other popular teen rappers Lil George and Silento, I Heart Memphis, We R Toons and D Low on a few city stops. He has been profiled on prominent local TV news programs and featured in national press outlets including Complex, thisis50.com, allhiphop.com, XXL and most recently spotlighted in the Michigan Chronicle and Detroit’s Metro Times.

Citing his fans as his motivation, the young influencer thinks of his supporters as family and takes personal responsibility for the content and impact his work has on them. As the project’s name suggests, Quarrion is aiming for his music, and its positive message to start an epidemic of infectious, feel good, age appropriate music that kids of all ages can relate and dance to.

Epidemic is now available online on Google Play, iTunes & Spotify.

Save the date because April 26 comes the latest project The Coldest. Skilla Baby is poised for the announcement by unveiling a brand new single Free Big Meech. Produced by MIA JayC and Lee Choppn, this single hinges on tense synths and punchy 808s, while Skilla Baby unleashes a vital verbal flurry. Paving a lane to the forefront of the game at high-speed, rising Detroit rapper spoke on the project:

I took my time to put this project together… Sometimes, I feel like people try to place me in a box. The pressure of being a new artist, being successful, staying disciplined, and still clocking into the studio is very strenuous. But fun at the same time. As an artist, I’m known as the “Girl’s guy”. But I’ll never forget I come from the streets. As a real person, I feel so many emotions (mad, sad, happy, anxious, etc.). I say that to say, sorry for the wait but I wanted to put everything I feel into one project. Grab your coats…

Next up, the Vultures Eat The Most Tour takes him across the country on his most extensive jaunt yet. He also joins forces with New Orleans heavy-hitter Rob49 to co-headline the tour with tickets available here. This year is gearing up to be the coldest yet so pre-order your copy of the project here. “Wake Up” With Young Franco & Master Peace

It’s harder to wake up when you have mundane ish to do. Unveiling a brand new music video, Young France recruits UK Indie sensation Master Peace for huge new track Wake Up. Life becomes easier when you’re on the path to becoming a rockstar. The music video, shot in the UK, follows Young Franco and Master Peace individually, through a first-person lens as they undertake “mundane” daily activities until they then meet and begin to enjoy the iconic streets and taxis of London together. Franco spoke on the track:

Working with Master Peace has been an amazing experience. I found out about his project via his record “Eyes on You” and have wanted to work with him since that moment. I was writing a bunch of tracks in 2020. One of them being an early version of Wake Up, which I wrote with Elliot from Delta Riggs. I connected with Master Peace online and once I got to London last year, we smashed this in a couple of hours. His new record is fantastic and I’m super excited how this one turned out. Special mention to Danio from Husky Loops for some added production too.

Young Franco has started 2024 off with a bang, where he teamed up with UK rapper S1mba for the release of the funk laid hip hop track HITA. Wake Up follows a busy year of touring already, where he has done a sold out run of Europe with a string of sold-out shows in the USA. Young Franco has accumulated over 200 million streams and plans to continue to put Astralwerks Records on the map. Stream your copy of the single here and watch the dreamlike visual below.
