Mekke’l Carter is no stranger to the spotlight. She is a multidimensional powerhouse in the fields of music, acting, and art. She is a top-five billboard charted singer and songwriter that has worked with some of the finest talents of the music industry, and it’s no surprise that her current project has her working with none other than Malik Yusef, the six-time Grammy winner and musical genius behind Kanye West’s GOOD MUSIC. One thing that stands out about this amazingly talented starlet is her humility. While most people would be soaking up as much time in the spotlight as they can, this young lady is still giving credit to those surrounding her. When discussing the star-studded team that she has been working with, she had this to say, “Malik Yusef is a wordsmyth, and master songwriter, who executive produced my project. Fya Man, a pioneer of the Chicago Drill music movement who’s also my producer and songwriting partner. Profit The Producer who works out of Detroit, where I originally started my creative and recording process at his studio, my engineer Dawson, recording vocals for Donda with my big homie Mike Dean. & lastly, my brother Vic Mensa, who gave me my first big songwriting placement opportunity on his debut Roc Nation album “The Autobiography” with Pharrell Williams & Chief Keef, as well as writing and vocal producing for Snoh Aalegra and Saint JHN on his more recent project “V TAPE,” so it has honestly just felt like a big family to me. This is my tribe for real. I also love to connect and see such a wide range of different artists like Don Toliver, Baby Keem, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Vory, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, The Weeknd, Fivio Foreign, Jhe Rooga, Roddy Rich, Pop Smoke, Jay Electronica and Jay Z all on the same project. Like, the features on the album are insane. It inspired me to see the mix of newer artists being embraced and interwoven with the goats & greats.”

Originally hailing from Canton, Ohio, she and her siblings moved west to Los Angeles to pursue careers in the spotlight, primarily music and acting. As a result, they were known as triple threats. They were seen all over national television in several commercials. She grew into the music scene by participating in nationwide tours with her uncles and the legendary rap group “Bone Thugs N’ Harmony.” So it is no surprise that she is now taking the world by storm.

Mekke’l Carter has just recently launched her YouTube channel for Beauty, Fashion, Fitness, Lifestyle, Spirituality & Music called “Rose Gold Goddess.” She performs guided meditation, Sound Healing and educates people about metaphysics, crystals, herbal medicine, chakras, reiki energy, and spirituality! Produced by MIA JayC and Lee Choppn, this single hinges on tense synths and punchy 808s, while Skilla Baby unleashes a vital verbal flurry. Paving a lane to the forefront of the game at high-speed, rising Detroit rapper spoke on the project:

I took my time to put this project together… Sometimes, I feel like people try to place me in a box. The pressure of being a new artist, being successful, staying disciplined, and still clocking into the studio is very strenuous. But fun at the same time. As an artist, I’m known as the “Girl’s guy”. “Wake Up” With Young Franco & Master Peace

It’s harder to wake up when you have mundane ish to do. Unveiling a brand new music video, Young France recruits UK Indie sensation Master Peace for huge new track Wake Up. Life becomes easier when you’re on the path to becoming a rockstar. The music video, shot in the UK, follows Young Franco and Master Peace individually, through a first-person lens as they undertake “mundane” daily activities until they then meet and begin to enjoy the iconic streets and taxis of London together. Franco spoke on the track:

Working with Master Peace has been an amazing experience. I found out about his project via his record “Eyes on You” and have wanted to work with him since that moment. I was writing a bunch of tracks in 2020. One of them being an early version of Wake Up, which I wrote with Elliot from Delta Riggs. I connected with Master Peace online and once I got to London last year, we smashed this in a couple of hours. His new record is fantastic and I’m super excited how this one turned out. Special mention to Danio from Husky Loops for some added production too.

Young Franco has started 2024 off with a bang, where he teamed up with UK rapper S1mba for the release of the funk laid hip hop track HITA. Wake Up follows a busy year of touring already, where he has done a sold out run of Europe with a string of sold-out shows in the USA.
