Shameless Plug x Sphabeats ‘JOHANNESBORO’ EP

Published

on

Shameless Plug continues full steam with yet another EP release titled ‘JOHANNESBORO.’ The NY lyrical vet enlists producer Sphabeats from Africa for the 4-track collaborative project.

The big-screen soundscapes of “Imperfect World” set the EP off with classic storytelling and wordplay from Plug. He touches on a life of ‘flippin’ just to realize the streets show no love in return. Although he’s not a double dribbler when it comes to the bars, he does reflect on past self-inflicted mistakes.

“Say It Back” is a tale, far too familiar, of a tumultuous love from a man’s perspective. Through a woman’s BS, lack of loyalty, fake hugs, and even intermittent scuffles; he still loves her. Plug reminds us that love has four letters just like many curse words we spew. Will it be your gift or curse?

The impeccable sounds of horns in “Heavy Crowns” drives Plug’s lyrical flow through Brooklyn’s core. “Heavy is the head that wears the crown,” Plug describes the changes Brooklyn has and continues to bare, willingly and unwillingly.

“The Journey” concludes the EP with impressive lyricism detailing Plug’s journey through life as a man. The blends of piano keys, bass, and drums heighten his autobiographical account.  Stream ‘JOHANNESBORO’ and connect with Shameless Plug and Sphabeats below.
