Vela$ – Nitecap

Published

on

Sometimes we all need a “Nitecap”. For STL artist (by way of Brazil), VELA$, his is a girl and how he views both aspirations and relationships as one. The hypnotizing production, crafted by Audio Chef, is defined by a haunting flute loop and gritty drums with a kick that knocks through your headphones. Inspired by artists such as Travis Scott, Trippie Redd and Eminem; the 21 year old artist continues to experiment with his sound while proving how versatile he is.

Hard work pays off. As cliche as that sounds, it ultimately does. And for Joao Paulo Teixeira Da Silveira, or VELA$ – for short, he’s out to prove the theory right. As early as fifteen, VELA$ recorded his first track while in high school as he searched for an outlet other than sports (which wasn’t cutting it). And it’s stuck with him to this day. Now, 21 years old, VELA$ looks to solidify his spot in music. Essentially drawing influence from artists like Eminem, Travis Scott, Speaker Knocker, Killy and Trippie Redd, VELA$ eventually created his own sound that has defined his most recent line of work.

“I would say my music appeals to everyone. I feel that my music is all about how you’re feeling when you’re listening to it. In the end, my target is to make my listeners feel more confident and inspired to chase their dreams. My music, overall, appeals to those who have set big goals for themselves and are looking for a little bit of inspiration along the way.”

In the bustling streets of Southeast, Washington DC, rapper Kazon’s latest offering, “My Brother,” emerges as a symphony of redemption and advocacy, resonating with audiences far and wide.

Kazon’s path to musical stardom has been fraught with obstacles, from brushes with the law to a brush with death that left him scarred but unbroken. Through it all, he credits his resilience to the belief that every setback is an opportunity for growth.

With “My Brother,” Kazon takes on the role of a lyrical mentor, offering guidance and solace to Black youth grappling with violence and systemic oppression. Through heartfelt verses and melodic refrains, he shares his own journey of redemption, using his past mistakes as a catalyst for change.

At its core, “My Brother” is a call to action—a plea for unity, love, and advocacy within the Black community. Kazon’s harmonious tale serves as a reminder that through solidarity and advocacy, we can effect real change and pave the way for a brighter future.

As the final notes of “My Brother” fade into the ether, Kazon’s message lingers: every trial is a testament to our strength, and every mistake is a chance to do better.
