In the latest news out of Chiraq, a 4-year-old girl was shot in the stomach while playing in her yard on Monday, only days after celebrating her birthday.
Khalise Weatherspoon was riding a scooter around the front of her home Monday evening, when she and another man were shot near 71st and Rockwell. According to reports, two men ran out of an alley shooting wildly. Weatherpoon’s family were predictably angered by the event.
“She was just outside playing with some of my other grandkids, in front of their house, for God’s sake,” said Weatherspoon’s grandfather, Richard Spires. “The shooting these guys are doing is just ridiculous. The people getting shot are the innocent people like my grandchild. And the government is not allowing this concealed carry mess. They might as well open it up and say it’s the OK Corral.”
