A second chapter earns its place by showing what the first one could not yet know. Toosii returns to the melodic storytelling of the 2020’s with Platinum Heart 2. Lil Terrio opens with a look at his beginnings, while Soul Ties turns toward a bond that holds through difficulty. First Night brings Hunxho into a melodic exchange about attraction and a woman who knows her worth. The TrillGotJuice-produced Boot Up and the solo cut I’m Hot make room for Toosii’s rap-led side, widening the record beyond its romantic center. Those contrast polish the album’s musical idea. Toosii lets melodies reflect, while the harder stance adds level of expression.
Nights Prayed previously introduced the approach to Platinum Heart 2. Please Don’t Go, featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, completes the thirteen-song tracklist. The guests broaden the exchange without changing its focus on Toosii’s writing and melodic capabilities. He takes the project onto the Platinum Nights Tour beginning November 17 at Houston’s House of Blues, with New Orleans, Philadelphia and Washington ahead of the November 24 finale at Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit.
