Bishop The Overseer Takes Hiatus From Film To Drop New Single

After almost a 3 year hiatus since his last album “The Story of Life My Life”, New Jersey rapper Bishop The Overseer returns with a new single “Runnin Back”. Intimate and laid back, the Contemporary R&B/Hip-Hop Surround Sound recording features smooth vocals and mesmerizing melodic instrumentation with a powerful commentary undertone of the present political climate. Produced by Tone Jonez, whose credits include everything from Grand Hustle artists to Disney and WGN, “Running Back” is the perfect re-introduction to the game for Billboard charting Bishop. The lyrics are elegantly garnished, carefully crafted, and thoughtful, dealing as they do with the topics of emigration in the pursuit of liberty and happiness, addiction and suicide. Although musically silent for a while, Newark-raised Bishop was simply expanding his entertainment repertoire. In fact, his hiatus from music was spent starring in big screen film productions like “Music & Lyrics”, “Enchanted”, “American Gangster”, “I Am Legend”, “Taking of Pelham 123” and “Salt” after making his acting debut on Dennis Leary’s “Rescue Me.” Stay tuned for news of the release of a remastered version of “Money Spot (Part 1)”, coming in August.
